Who are we?

Our Mission : Empowering Australians Through Digital Confidence
Digital Skills Australia was born from watching our parents and grandparents struggle with technology that was meant to make their lives easier. We realized that whilst the tech industry races ahead with new features and updates, they often leave behind the very people who could benefit most from these digital tools.
We decided it was time to give back to the generation that gave us so much. Our mission is simple: help every Australian feel confident and capable with technology, one person at a time.
The Journey So Far
2020: The Beginning
Peninsula Interactive was founded and registered in Melbourne, initially focused on website development for local businesses across Victoria. Peninsula Interactive mainly focused on wordpress and PHP development.
2021: Finding Our Purpose
Whilst programming remained a passion, we quickly identified a group of Australians being left behind by rapid technological change. We began pivoting toward digital skills training and education specifically for senior citizens and older adults.

2023: Becoming Digital Skills Australia
Peninsula Interactive was renamed Digital Skills Australia, with all web and app development services phased out. We committed fully to our mission of helping older Australians navigate the digital world with confidence.

2025: Expanding Our Reach
We’ve launched our comprehensive new website, online booking platform, and dedicated phone support service. Our focus has expanded to raising awareness and partnering with community groups across Australia to provide free digital literacy sessions for seniors.

What We’ve Learned
Five years of helping people with technology has taught us what really matters.
🤝
Patience First
We never rush. Learning takes time, and everyone learns at their own pace. We’re here for as long as it takes.
💡
Understanding Over Judgment
There’s no such thing as a silly question. We create safe spaces where people feel comfortable asking anything.
🎯
Real Solutions
We focus on practical skills that actually improve daily life, not abstract concepts or unnecessary complexity.
Meet the Founder

Jack Harris
Founder & Training Training and Education Manager
I started Digital Skills Australia because I believe our older generations deserve better than being left behind by technology. After watching too many grandparents give up on video calls with family or parents avoid online banking out of fear, I knew something had to change.
With a background in web development and a passion for patient teaching, I’ve helped over 1,000 Australians transform their relationship with technology. Every session reinforces my belief that with the right approach, anyone can master digital skills.
